Learning and the Brain - the iGeneration

As always, Learning and the Brain Conference has much to offer and much food for thought. The following information is what I tried to put together from the various talks:

1. Larry Rosen: His website

2. Tony Wagner: You can find several YouTube videos on his talks. Excellent speaker and with practical ideas to implement. Tony's website

Khan Academy

Khan Academy has several links for various mathematical topics. These can be used for:

- Reteaching

- Reviewing concepts

- Introducing concepts

- Learning new concepts

- Just for making Math fun

In the classroom I have used this website to find topics of interest to each student. The students then learn about the topic and teach it to the rest of the class. It is not only a great differentiation tool, it really helps children enjoy Mathematics, particularly if they are averse to it.
